BCU Law, Debating & Mooting Society is the premier student-led organisation at Birmingham City University dedicated to fostering professional excellence and commercial awareness among aspiring legal practitioners.
We bridge the gap between academic study and professional practice through advocacy initiatives, networking opportunities, and a full programme of events, from mock trials to networking dinners.
Our History
Founded in 2017
BCU Law, Debating & Mooting Society was founded in 2017 by a group of students who recognised a gap between legal education and the professional world. What began as a small community of ambitious students has grown into one of BCU’s most active and respected societies.
Today, under new executive leadership, the society continues to expand its professional networking programme, strengthen corporate connections, and deliver an ever-broader range of advocacy and mooting workshops.
